VILLAINEX
SHOW INFORMATION

- Villainex is an hour-long, solo show set in a high fantasy reality.

-It is written and will be performed by Paula Brett, an autistic queer theatremaker.

- The show utilises puppetry, physical theatre, song, poetry and integrated audio description to unpack themes such as the nuance of identity, seeking community, and addressing transphobia and homophobia within the LGBTQIA+ community.

- The show will be presented both live and digitally, making the piece as accessible as possible.

- Down the line, we hope to use Villainex to invite queer and disabled creatives who have never made work before to come and write/devise a short piece in response to the show, which will then be platformed for industry. It is important to me that a show about gatekeeping should have a role in opening gates for marginalised groups.
